  Bathing Daily Doesn’t Help The Planet

  the new york times as well as other news agencies are reporting that in order to help save the planet we should limit our daily bathing.

  they say daily bathing really because popular in the 20th century because elites decided to impress and use petroleum based soaps and take advantage of their indoor plumbing.

  a lot of this daily bathing ritual was just for show.

  An American Religion?

  i have a question.. have every member of the governing body (past and present) been american citizens?.

  while i understand that some may have been born outside of the us, ultimately to serve in the world hq long term, i imagine that they all had to become 'americans'?.

  don't know how many of y'all still watch it.. this month's topic is "the king of the north" - cook goes into monotonous detail over the jw interpretation about rome, germany, ussr, russia, etc.. leaving aside for other commentators the emotionally manipulative videos of jws in russian holding cells, the tearjerker interviews, the god-awful stiffness of cook (i suspect he has never genuinely smiled, much less laughed, in his 60+ years), just thought i'd comment on one topic.. the centerpiece of the program is a "morning worship" monologue from splane.

  let's again just leave to the side the dude's pomposity, smugness, and inflated sense of his own genius, and think about this part of his monologue.. he was tracing the history of the "king of the north" and talked about how "britain" (not england, not the united kingdom, not great britain, but "britain" - no idea why they have that fixation - anyway...) became the kotn in the 19th century.. paraphrasing his comments: "britain would not have become kotn if france had its way.

  france was much wealthier and more powerful, but at the battle of waterloo, britain defeated france.

  Adverse weather. .. Conservatives have a car. Liberals have bicycles. Conservatives have control of their life. Liberals rely on somebody else( government) to pick up the slack.

  so, in a couple weeks, the jws move on in their bible-reading slog to the book of deuteronomy.. take a gander at deuteronomy 23:12,13:.

  a private place should be designated for use outside the camp, and there is where you should go.

  Nobody ever got diarrhea? I think one scenario has a long parade with ones arriving while others are still leaving.

  I think the stories are enhanced versions of some real event. Maybe a few hundred exiles crossed the desert. Maybe there was one helluva big rain, david and Jonathan fought off 5 men standing back to back...on and on.

  Only thing correct is the rain at Waterloo. Napoleon used skipping cannon balls to take out opposing forces; the mud made the balls stick where they landed.

  The old Babylon book had all this and it all came true......but nothing happened. The rise england has been credited to the Spanish armada defeat, the French Indian war era, and now napoleon. No mention of the Dutch being a great sea power either.

  BTW, did he have a chart?

  Are Watchtower library CD's of any use.

  i have 8 watchtower library cd's from 1997 to 2009 and barbara anderson's "secrets of paedophilia" cd which i no longer require.

  .

  if anyone wants them in the uk please let me know and i will send them for free rather than dump them..

  Why did Jehovah Kill all the animals in the flood? What purpose did it serve??

  some of my jw family that is waking up posed that question to my jw family that is still hanging on to jw belief.. the stepbrother that posed that question told me;.

  "in all these years of being a jw, i actually never gave it much thought as to why jehovah had to kill millions of innocent animals that had nothing to do with mankind becoming evil.".

  i keep picturing in my mind, all the baby puppies and kitties that were destroyed by jehovah.
